Edward Mallow was born and raised in New York. He attended the State University of New York at Oswego and has a degree in Public Justice and Sociology (1981). He then attended and graduated from the University of Bridgeport School of Law in Connecticut (1985). He was admitted to the New York and Connecticut Bars in 1985. While in Law School, he joined the United States Navy as a Judge Advocate (JAG). Edward then served for 7 years active duty, mostly in Florida, but also on an Aircraft Carrier, USS AMERICA (CV-66). While on active duty, Edward was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1988. He then began to practice law as a civilian in the Jacksonville area practicing in the Workers’ Compensation, Longshore, Defense Base Act areas of the law beginning in 1992. During the civilian practice of law, Edward remained in the U.S. Navy Reserves and was recalled to active duty after 9/11/2001 for thirty months. He had also been recalled a few additional times to active duty, including serving a tour in Iraq. He retired as a Navy Captain in 2011 after serving for 27 years.
For his work as a civilian attorney, Edward has practiced solely in the areas of Longshore, Defense Base Act and Workers’ Compensation Law and has worked as both a Claimant’s attorney and Insurance Defense Attorney. Edward was Board Certified in Florida as well.
When not working as a lawyer, Edward is the proud father of three adult disabled children and spends most time being a “Dad”. He also plays piano for various organizations from time to time.
