The compensation rate under the Defense Base Act and Longshore Act is 66.6% of your average weekly wage. The average weekly wage is essentially your gross weekly take home and you calculate the average weekly wage by taking the 52 weeks prior to the date of injury and dividing it by 52 to arrive at the average weekly wage, and then from there you take two-thirds of that to reach the compensation rate.
